Hopefully everyone had a fantastic and restful week off... now its time for the race to the end of the semester. (That's right, these grade 12s only have 1/2 a semester until they graduate!)
This week in science 30, we are starting the Physics unit! This is most often the most dreaded unit of science 30, and it is difficult for some because it incorporates a theoretical comprehension and an understanding of mathematical manipulation. We will start this week by finishing off the case study I assigned as a review of the physics the students have already learned this year (from Ms. Wasylecsko). From there, the science 30s will be asked to design an electrical motor or generator using commonly available household materials. It's pretty fun! Finally, the science 30s will be given some circuit boards to "play" with - that is they will learn by inquiry learning, all about series and parallel circuits!
I also want to make sure that the science 30s are now aware that I do have a prep block, as I have finished my Forensics 25 course for the year. That means 3rd block Monday/Wednesday/Friday and 4th block Tuesday/Thursday I am available for questions and clarification for the science 30s! Yay!!!
