![]() As we all have been aware of the tragedy of Jaydon Sommerfeld's passing, it is understandable that the school has taken measures to reduce the stress on students during this difficult time. As such we will be recommending that all students attempt to write exams but that all school based final exams will be write without risk, meaning that the students' marks will be calculated using the highest mark of either their final exam mark or letting their school based mark stand as their final grade. We are currently working with Alberta Education about requesting exemptions for diploma exams and we will be communicating that as soon as we have an answer. Due to curricular outcome requirements, the final project for Science 30s, as well as any late assignments they would like to hand in will remain due by 3pm Friday June 12. This will allow students to improve their class marks. I would like to encourage the kids to hand in whatever work they have done for the project, to at least get minimum marks! As for assessment in science 30, the students will have the option to complete their in class final at any time (during school hours) Thursday, Friday or Monday. This exam cannot hurt their science 30 mark however, it may drastically improve their class mark, as it is possible to replace the midterm and count as the final. Again, here is the remaining work for science 30s: Friday June 12 @3pm: All missing work / projects due Monday June 15 @4pm: All final exams must be completed Science 30 Diploma Exam: Friday June 26
