Last week the Science 30s got their first taste of chemistry... and I hope they are all as excited about it as I am (granted I do have an honors degree in chemistry so I should be excited about it!) This week, the kids will hopefully have handed in more of their (now) very late assignments, and are ready to stay on track until summer... riiiiiggghhhhttt.....
So, what are we up to this week?! This week the science 30s will be working on a project in which they are going to investigate the different oxides produced by combustion reactions and what type of acid deposition and environmental havoc is created by oxides of carbon, nitrogen, sulfur and metals. In the past, students have been less successful at this project, so I have tweaked it slightly to make it better!
