Last week the science 30s started off the semester with a bang! A lab! Woohoo!!! They really got to experience the science - already - by exercising to determine the effect on heart rate and blood pressure. This week we will continue with the Circulatory trend, learning the clotting cascade and immune response. If students previously took bio 20, this is all review for them, so it is my hope that this section is quite easy for most students in science 30.
Thursday, the science 30s will have their first formative assessment, a quiz. This will cover the the circulatory system and blood up to clotting, learned in class. This will let me see where they need more help and learning, and let the students see the types of questions that might be on a summative assessment. The students' first lab is also due this Wednesday, and they can choose if they want to keep the mark, or simply do the lab for comments to try to do well on the next labs to come!
