![]() Last week, the chem 30s learned how to name all sorts of different organic compounds. This will continue into Monday, at which point they will be learning about different functional groups and apply this new knowledge to organic chemistry reactions! This is an important part of Alberta's industry and therefore is important that the chem 30s understand the reactions! I realize that next week is an important week for the chem 30s, and I am sure they will all be extremely distracted. For this reason, after learning the variety of functional groups, they will be allowed a work period (to study for their quiz Wednesday) and 2 following work periods to work on their project (due Friday). I feel this is a reasonable amount of time provided for the project (4 classes total) and for that reason will not be taking it in later than Friday. This week in chem 30: Monday: Organic Functional Groups Tuesday: Work Period Wednesday: Quiz topic 1-8 Thursday: Work period Friday: Work period Upcoming due dates: Wednesday May 27: OChem Quiz 1 Friday May 29: Organic Chemistry Project Due Monday June 1: Optional Replacement Project Due Friday June 5: Unit C OChem Test Tuesday June 9: Ester Lab due In Class Final Exam Wednesday June 10 Diploma Exam Tuesday June 23
