![]() It’s Midterm Season! This week in chem 30, the students will be given a project, a lab and a bit of work (2 topics to be exact). This will lead up to next Thursday (November 13), which is the Midterm! Friday was the introduction of the new unit Acid Base Equilibrium. Many students find this unit extremely challenging, and I was met with a lot of blank stares in the class! (It may have been a candy coma because of Halloween, or in fact they were quite confused). This project that will be introduced Monday reinforces the concept learned previously, and allows students to connect the idea of Equilibrium to the real world. After the project, we will delve into Le Chatelier’s Principal, complete with a demonstration that allows for visual concept of the concept and Bronsted Lowry acid bases. On Friday, we will perform a lab to confirm the learning so far. This lab will be due 10 days later, to allow the chem 30s time to study for their midterm (and enjoy their long weekend). I look forward to this big week in chem 30!
