![]() Last week the chem 30s completed Unit A, Thermochem and I was actually quite impressed with the amount of success students had! The rewrite was on Thursday, with many students improving their grade! So good work! Last week, we also began Electrochemistry. I find many students struggle at first with this unit, as it is very theoretical and abstract. I saw a lot of confused faces, and the "simple lab" seemed to stress them out! HOPEFULLY this week will go better?!?!? Monday the students have their first REAL lab report due. This is not the first lab work they have gotten back, however it is the first lab they will be marked on. Hopefully, the chem 30s will use their feedback from the quick labs to create amazing thermochem lab reports! Throughout the week we ill be performing a titration lab to demonstrate redox titrations (very similar to what they learned in chem 20 - just a little twist in the type of reaction!) so hopefully that will be more fun than the spontaneity lab of last week - which was pretty boring! This week in Chem 30 Monday: Topic 4 Redox in Solution Tuesday: Topic 5 Redox Stoich Wednesday: Titration Quick Lab Thursday: Quiz (Topic 1-3) Friday: Topic 6 Voltaic Cells Upcoming Due Dates in Chem 30 Mon Mar 13: Fuel Lab due Wed Mar 15: Spont Quick Lab due Thurs Mar 16: Quiz Topic 1-3 Tues Mar 21: Titration Quick Lab due
