![]() Last week in chem 20, we finished the first unit (Molecular Bonding). The students were given time to complete their lab, project and study for their first real unit test. It was quite boring for me, just watching them work, but it turned out well! The average on the unit test was 74% which is very impressive! Students who weren't as successful on their unit test are able to rewrite at a later date prior to the midterm exam (which will be after the Easter Break). This week in chem 20, we will be beginning the Gases unit in chem 20. This unit is completely inquiry based, in which students are required to develop lab analysis in order to determine the trends of the gas laws: Boyle's Law, Charles' Law, Gay Lussac's Law, Combined Gas Law and the Ideal Gas Law. This unit is very exciting, I love it, and I have found my students are extremely successful with this type of learning (because it makes them THINK). This week in Chem 20 Monday: Boyle's Law Inquiry Tuesday: Charles' Law Inquiry Wednesday: Gay Lussac's Inquiry Thursday: Combined Gas Law Inquiry Friday: Work Period (to catch up) Upcoming Due Dates PAST DUE: BONDING LAB Friday March 13: Meet my Molecule Project Due
